After, what can only be described as, the most obvious case of a "homer" referee cheating, yes I said CHEATING in Saturday's Edinburgh Derby, when a certain FIFA grade referee awarded Hibernian a penalty, we at View From Gorgie have decided to come up with a new awards competition.

I probably should wait until the beginning of next season to start this but, due to the blatant nature of Saturday's "helping hand", I am starting it now.

From now on, a thread will be started on the main forum where we will all be able to nominate, what basically ammounts to, our "Cheat of the Week". Whoever gets the most nominations or is judged to be the best nomination that week due to the offence or reason given for their nomination, will then have their name placed on a Dougie McDonald Award page. All of these names and reasons will then be voted on at the end of the season to become the overall winner for that season.

This doesn't have to be refs either. No matter if it is Kenny Miller tripping over, yet another, blade of grass and getting a penalty. ANY club using the old "red card appeal" to make sure that their obviously guilty star is available for a big game. Even a petulant manager refusing to give the ball back at a throw-in.

Anything goes.

It is time to "name and shame" the cheats in and around Scottish football (to be honest that time is well overdue).
